Gang Culture

Illustrations for a back-to-back investigative reporting that explored the history and culture of some of America’s most notorious gangs. The first focused on the Mara Salvatrucha, commonly known as MS-13, one of the most organized and violent gangs born in El Salvador. The second covered the Brown Pride, a Mexican-American street gang based in Nashville, Tennessee, although found in various states including California and Arizona. Client: Northern Virginia Magazine.
